We deeply appreciate your support of Delta Cup. As a two-day event filled with awesome dancing, it can be hard to tear yourself away from the action. But you’ll need to eat so we’ve put together a handy dining guide to help you out.
There’s a cafe right in the facility called Buenos Dias. Owner/Chef Adrian Dias is passionate about sourcing organic products from local farms and creates good quality food choices at reasonable prices. His staffing is limited and it is challenging for him to open on weekends because that means his staff must be paid overtime and doesn’t even get a day off. However, he has agreed to open the cafe for both of our daytime sessions! The cafe will open from 7:00AM until around 6:30PM. You’ll have access to breakfast choices as well as salads, grilled sandwiches, fish and chips, soups and hot dogs (a popular request during the kids events). Around the end of the daytime sessions, Chef Adrian will offer up a really spectacular menu of 4-course dinner choices including salad, dessert and coffee or tea along with an entree. You have two chicken options, two fish options and two beef choices. These are priced reasonably. The cafe will be closed for the evening sessions but a bar will be open during those sessions featuring wine, beer and other liquor choices.
Outside of the competition
Mario’s Kitchen is located a couple blocks away from the KinVillage Community Centre. Darren Gates, the owner of this great restaurant, graciously supported Delta Cup the first two years. It’s a great restaurant and we encourage you to stop in. Make sure you mention Delta Cup and thank them for their past support! Mario’s Kitchen offers amazing food at reasonable prices. You can choose from pastas and pizza made with the freshest ingredients, ribs, burgers, salads, seafood and much more. Wendy and I dine there quite often because we really love the quality of food, service and atmosphere. This is one of the better restaurants in Metro Vancouver and usually has a lineup after 5pm.
Illuminati is a high-end Italian restaurant just two doors from Mario’s and Alpha is a Greek restaurant located directly beside Mario’s.
The Tsawwassen Mills mall opened last year and offers some great dining choices like Milestone’s, Boston Pizza, Uncle Buck’s Fish Bowl and Grill, and Montana’s Cookhouse. Directly across the street from the mall are other choices including A&W and Nando’s Chicken franchises. Tsawwassen Mills is located about a 2-minute drive from the KinVillage facility. The mall itself is worth a visit when you’re here. It’s not only huge, but also a work of First Nations creativity, with beautiful sculptures throughout the 1.3-mile circuit. A bit farther north, in the community of Ladner, you’ll find additional dining options including Sharkey’s Seafood Bar & Grille and the amazing Taverna Gorgona.
Pat Quinn’s Restaurant is an upscale option located at Tsawwassen Springs Golf Club.
White Spot is a good place for breakfast and also serves lunch and dinner. The Rose and Crown Pub is just one and a half blocks from the venue. There are also choices for Pho, Thai, Sushi, sandwiches and much more. Use the map below as a handy reference guide to the more popular dining spots in the area.
If you’re staying at the Coast hotel, the hotel has a Brown’s Social House bar and grill. A number of the local restaurants offer delivery. These include Mario’s Kitchen and White Spot. If you like Pizza, Mario’s is a great choice, as are Boston Pizza and Panago’s.
You can also check out the Boundary Bay airport if you like planes. It’s about a 7-minute drive from the venue and has a nice restaurant called Skyhawk that serves up some pretty good casual dining choices. It’s open from 7:30AM until 9PM on Saturday and 7:30AM until 8PM on Sunday.
Late Night choices
If you’re looking for dine-in options after the end of the evening events, most of the restaurants will be closed but the Rose and Crown Pub is one of the few late-night choices. Milestone’s in Tsawwassen Mills is supposed to open till midnight on Saturday only but sometimes closes a bit early, and Browns Socialhouse in the Coast Tsawwassen Inn is open till midnight on Saturday only. Unfortunately, late Sunday night choices are a challenge in Tsawwassen and Ladner. You’ll have to head to Richmond.
