Here’s the second in our series of interviews with Delta Cup competitors.

It’s always nice to look behind the scenes and get insights to the people on the floor. With that in mind, we are preparing a series of interviews with some of the Delta Cup competitors so that you can get to know them a bit better.

Zachary Lee is a familiar face at BC competitions, having won the Canadian Youth Latin Championship in 2017 with his previous partner Bernice Mau. At previous Delta Cup events, he and Bernice enjoyed first-place championship finishes in more than one age category. In 2016 they even won the Adult Open Latin event.

Jessica Petrochuk, who hails from Seattle and moved to BC this summer to attend UBC, is also a familiar face to BC residents, having won Delta Cup in numerous age categories in both Ballroom and Latin styles with her previous partner, Anton Tseytlin. The battles between Anton with Jessica and Zach with Bernice were epic! After moving to Vancouver, Jessica and Zach have partnered to continue dancing in the Latin division.

This year, Zach and Jessica will be contesting the NDCC BC Championships in the Youth and Under 21 age categories. They will also be competing against her former partner Anton as he dances with his new partner. That will be an interesting battle!

Grab a cup of coffee and get to know more about Zachary and Jessica.
