Renowned artist Peter Daniels and his lovely wife Bonnie have been a joyful presence in the Delta Dance community for years. Peter has a long background as a fine artist and has graciously offered an original oil painting to be auctioned off at Delta Cup.
Born in New Westminster and growing up in White Rock and Dawson Creek, Peter developed an interest in art in high school. He graduated from the Kootenay School of Art in 1970. He also attended Notre Dame University in Nelson, graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.
He developed a Fine Arts Program for St. Michael’s University School in Victoria, as well as helping to develop a Fine Arts program for the Correctional Services of Canada. During ten years of teaching, he pursued his own skill as an artist. In 1982 he turned to full-time art, working in painting and with ceramics, developing a unique combination of colors and design style.
Peter’s work was selected by the Department of External Affairs in Ottawa for their permanent collection. His art work is in numerous private collections throughout Canada and the USA. A market in Europe is also being established.
One of his original oils on canvas is being auctioned through a silent auction over the weekend reflects Peter’s love of dance and showcases three styles of dancing: traditional Ballroom dances, Latin, and Club dances.
