Experience all the excitement and drama of high quality Ballroom, Latin, Smooth and Rhythm dancing!

A 2-day competition featuring Pro/Am and Amateur events at all skill levels and age groups, Delta Cup brings the finest ballroom dancing directly to the Lower Mainland. Evening sessions include special showcase performances by two of Canada’s top professional couples. This year, to celebrate our fifth anniversary, we are featuring a spectacular Ballroom show by Woodrow Wills and Neli Petkova, ranked 2nd in Canada’s Professional Ballroom division; and a stunning Latin show by Han Ly and Crystal Li, ranked 2nd in Canada’s Professional Ten-Dance division.

The event takes place in the heart of South Delta, about half an hour south of downtown Vancouver and easily accessible by public transit. KinVillage Community Centre is a well-equipped facility with a quality sprung hardwood dance floor measuring 60 x 45 feet, as well as a built-in cafeteria and bar service.

We’ll offer general dancing and fun events to make it especially enjoyable for the audience. Our event raises funds for KinVillage, a non-profit society, to support the excellent work of this facility in the community.

We’ve sought out the finest judges and worked hard to keep costs to a minimum, both for the audience and for competitors. We also work hard to convert the facility into a glamorous environment to help you make the most of your time with us.

We hope to see you at Delta Cup. Consider becoming a sponsor to help make this a successful long-term dance landmark on the competition calendar.

Competition Categories

We’ve got competitions for Pro/Am and Amateur divisions.

Pro/Am Single Dance events are available for all age groups and skill levels in both Ladies and Gents categories. These are available in American Style and International Style.

Pro/Am Solo routines are also offered, with a maximum of 2 routines per student in order to help us manage our limited time. We’ve moved these to the Saturday evening session because it’s more fun for the audience to see some variety in the dances and also more fun for the performers.

Pro/Am Muti-Dance events are available for all age groups and skill levels in American Style and International Style.

Amateur events are offered in Juvenile, Junior, Youth, Adult, Senior 1 to Senior 4 age groups.

For 2019 we are offering the BC Closed Championships in all age categories.

All children’s and Youth events take place on Saturday during the daytime session. Singles (no partner) also take place on Saturday.

A second block of dances for Bronze, Silver and Gold categories gives competitors more options for dancing. NDCC’s two-bloc system allows competitors in closed syllabus amateur categories to dance all five dances in each genre by selecting both bloc 1 and bloc 2 groups for their skill level.

Recent changes

We’ve divided the Pro/Am events to provide the most convenience for competitors. Skill levels up to Open Gold happens during the daytime session while Open Multi-Dance events happen during the evening session.

Delta Cup is proudly brought to you by George and Wendy Pytlik, 7-time undefeated BC Senior Latin Champions, supported by a team of awesome volunteers passionate about dance.
